Letter A Snack for Preschool

Themed activities are a fun way to reinforce learning.  Here is a simple Letter A Snack for Preschool to practice learning what the letter A looks like and the sound it makes. 

To show how to make a Letter A preschool snack

Items needed for the Letter A snack

  • Pretzels sticks (at least 3 per student)
  • Raisins
  • Graham crackers (at least 1 per student)
  • Peanut butter (or a non-peanut alternative like frosting)
  • Plate and butter knife for each student
  • Letter A visual

Setup before snack

Gather all of your items beforehand by placing all of the dry ingredients into a basket and the peanut butter into a bowl with a spoon.

Snack time at Preschool

  • Ask your students to wash or sanitize their hands
  • Spoon a dollop of peanut butter on a plate with a graham cracker and pass out one for each student. 
  • Encourage the students to spread the peanut butter on their cracker
  • Show the students what an uppercase A looks like 
  • Pass out the pretzels to build the A, then ask how many raisins or “ants” they want and count them out together
