Free alien crowns that make preschoolers burst into play
Free choice time is a big part of my prechoolers’ day. During that time the kids explore various centers, like math, literacy or the dramatic play area – which is one of their favorites.
To sustain their interest in the dramatic play center I add theme based materials and props. We change themes every week, so interest remains constant.
For outer space week we include a cardboard space shuttle, make a mission control center and have masks students can wear to encourage role based play.
If you think your students would be interested in an Outer Space themed lesson plan (They also work great as monsters during Halloween), here are some free alien crowns to include in your dramatic play prop area.
What you’ll need:
White card stock
Elastic cord (or long strips of construction paper),
Laminator
Stapler
Scissors
Alien Crown Printable (join the library for the free printable)
Setup:
- Print and cut out the crowns
- Laminate and cut out again. (If you’re using paper strips to make the band, laminate the strip as well)
- Tie a not on both ends of the elastic cord, and then staple to the crown (staples face outward so they don’t poke the students)
