Pumpkin Patch Dramatic Play Center Theme for Preschool and Kindergarten
Here at Dream Big Little One we’re enjoying our fall themed dramatic play center of going to the pumpkin patch to pick pumpkins, go on a hayride, and face painting. We also opened a Country Store and sold some goods and finished off with making pretend pumpkin pie!
Here are a few highlights from Pumpkin Pretend Play.
First we set up shop and brainstormed goods that we could sell.
We made hot chocolate, apple cider and coffee to warm up our customers.
We used simple self pour containers found at the dollar store and stuffed them with construction paper.
We made kettle corn out of pieces tissue paper (I couldn’t find tan color tissue paper so we used lunch bags instead).
We collected fall themed decorations like garlands, scarecrows and fall colored flowers
We also sold tickets where our customers could use them to go on a hay ride, pick a pumpkin and get their faces painted.
If you are liking these ideas so far,
And want to bring fall into your dramatic play,
Make sure you include the face painting.
The kids loved it.
Our fall themed dramatic play center wouldn’t be complete without the pie.
Pretend Pumpkin Pie
Students used the simple recipe card with pictures to mix their pie ingredients, make their pie crust, and bake it in the oven.
